LONG JACK ROOT EXTRACT

Eurycoma Longifolia commonly known as Pasak Bumi, Tongkat Ali, or Malaysian Ginseng is indigenous of the South East Asian Region, mainly in Indonesia and Malaysia. This tall, slender, shrubby tree grows in sandy soil. It belongs to the Simaroubaceae family.

This plant has been used in traditional medicine for centuries, the root of the plant is boiled in water, and the water is consumed as a health tonic for post-partum recovery, as an aphrodisiac, as well as the relief of fever, intestinal worms, dysentery, diarrheathe.

Chemical content of this plant includes includes quassinoids, β-carboline alkaloids, canthin-6-one alkaloids, triterpene-type tirucallane, squalene derivatives, and eurycolactone, eurycomalactone, laurycolactone, biphenyl neolignan and bioactive steroids, indigestion, and jaundice.
